8TH NOVEMBER IS FOR CHANGES- TWITTER KILLS ITS 140 CHARACTER LIMIT

Did you hear that Twitter is officially doubling the character count now? Twitter confirmed Yesterday(8th November, 2017).

8th November 2016 Narendra Modi Killed 500-1000 notes, 8th November, 2017 Twitter kills its 140-character limit of tweet.

The company announced on Tuesday it is doubling how many characters users can cram into a tweet.

After 11 years, Twitter has doubled it’s previous character limit so now you can tweet longer than before. Most tweets will now fit 280 characters, up from 140. The new limit will roll out to Twitter users in almost all 40 languages Twitter supports.

The new character length won’t apply to Japanese, Korean or Chinese-language tweets. Those languages can convey twice as much information in less space, so tweets will remain at 140 characters, Twitter said.

The 140 character limit that they had before was based on SMS limits which is 160 characters per text so they allotted 20 characters for the username and 140 for the Tweet.

Historically 1 out of 10 English tweets reach the character limit, and with the new limit that dropped to 1 percent. Weirdly during the trial only 5% of Tweets sent were longer than 140 characters and only 2% were over 190 characters.

So what do you think about the new change, do you like it, leave your thoughts below.
